On March 28, the CCI de l'Ariège and the Communauté de communes du Pays de Tarascon renewed their partnership for a further 3 years.

"We have a comprehensive and coherent economic development program. The ultimate aim is to maintain, develop and create jobs in the region, in order to guarantee the quality of life to which the inhabitants of the Pays de Tarascon aspire", explained Philippe Pujol, President of the Communauté des communes du Pays de Tarascon.

He then listed the main actions undertaken: development, management and commercialization of the Prat Long ZAE, land programming for economic purposes within the framework of the Plui-H. The business premises for rental purposes will be enriched by a new offer, with a business hotel project under study. This will involve the reconversion of a brownfield site which, once rehabilitated, will be able to accommodate industrial, craft and tertiary activities on around 4,500 m² of renovated premises. Studies validating the feasibility of this project are currently underway. There will also be the launch of an operation to support local commerce: aid for small investments (renovation of shop fronts, store modernization, help to bring premises out of vacancy, professional equipment). Philippe Pujol confirmed: "We know the terrain, our business leaders and local issues. The CCI has business expertise and a broader vision of the department, which we draw on".

Josiane Gouze-Fauré, President of the Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de l'Ariège, emphasized the relationship of trust that unites the two entities, and recalled a few figures: "Over the last three years, the CCI de l'Ariège has established 519 contacts with economic players in the area, and in particular has carried out 27 dossiers seeking financing for over 1.3 million euros in aid obtained."

The new partnership agreement covers the period 2025-2027.
