Vietnam/ Bên Tre launches a housing assistance program for the working poor

On March 27, the Workers' Federation of the southern province of Bên Tre organized the inauguration ceremony of a housing construction project, offering new homes to its members facing precarious living conditions.

At a ceremony held in Son Phu commune, Giông Trôm district, the Federation unveiled its support for nine new housing units, for a total investment of 540 million dôngs (over 21,000 dollars).

These homes are more than just structures, they are a lifeline for workers seeking stability and a way out of poverty.

Federation President Nguyên Phuc Linh emphasized the importance of this program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing, saying that it testifies to the attention that the government has paid to the issue.he said, underscoring the attention paid by the Party, the State, the locality, the Workers' Federation and society as a whole to trade unionists and workers with housing problems.

In addition to housing, the Federation has supported over 500 workers through a program of concessional loans, totalling over 10 billion dôngs. It is committed to extending this initiative to offer workers more opportunities to escape poverty.
