Algeria/ Ouargla : Over 60 exhibitors at the Saharan Agriculture Investment Fair
Over sixty (60) exhibitors are taking part in the Salon de l'investissement dans l'agriculture saharienne, which opened on Wednesday in Ouargla under the banner of "strategic crops guaranteeing food security".
They represent national public and private companies whose activities are related to agriculture, as well as private investors and authorized agents operating in Algeria.s of foreign firms operating in Algeria, who will be exhibiting a range of agricultural products and other inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, phytosanitary products and a variety of agricultural equipment.
Administrative bodies and institutions involved in the agricultural sector are also taking part in the show, including the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, the Commissariat au développement de l'agriculture en régions sahariennes, the Agence nationale d'appui et de développement de l'entrepreneuriat, the Société algérienne d'assurances, the Caisse nationale de mutualité agricole and the Banque de l'agriculture et du développement rural.
Presenting this economic event as a framework designed to "give a boost to agricultural investment in the wilaya", Moussa Hamani, President of the Ouargla wilaya Chamber of Agriculture, said that the aim was to "give investors the opportunity to invest in the region".The aim is to "give national and foreign investors an idea of the significant agricultural potential of the wilaya and the wide-ranging opportunities it offers, in addition to encouraging innovative investment projects in Saharan agriculture".
This option, he says, is backed up by the facilities provided by the State to encourage investment in Saharan agriculture, particularly in strategic field crops and processing industries.
For M.Souhil Salah, an authorized representative of a foreign company operating in Algeria, specialized in the production of mineral fertilizers, a substitute for organic and chemical fertilizers, participation in this trade show is ''a good opportunity to promote the development of Algerian agriculture. is "a good opportunity to publicize the activities of our company, which has been operating in Algeria since 2018, and has ambitions to launch agricultural investments in the wilaya of Ouargla".
For his part, Mohamed Ibrir, President of the Algerian-Turkish Business Forum, argued that "Turkey has extensive expertise in the exploitation of natural resources and agricultural development, with recourse to modern technological means, including artificial intelligence".
He added that Turkey was "committed to sharing its know-how with Algeria, bringing in investors and securing real partnerships with their Algerian counterparts to develop agriculture".
Lotfi Bouaraara, Chairman and CEO of Global Agri-Food, believes that this economic event will provide an opportunity for the exchange of ideas and experiences. enable the exchange of ideas and knowledge between different agricultural operators, including farmers and suppliers of agricultural and other inputs and equipment.
The program for the show (January 15-18) also includes workshops on incentives for investment in agriculture, the importance of fertilizers and adherence to technical itineraries, investment mechanisms and techniques, and the use of advanced techniques in the agricultural sector.
The Salon de l'investissement dans l'agriculture saharienne, opened by the wali of Ouargla, M.Abdelghani Filali, is organized by the wilaya's Chamber of Agriculture and the company "Souf Foires", in coordination with the Directorate of Agricultural Services.
