Côte d'Ivoire/ Bush bags distributed to cashew growers in Madinani
Since Monday January 13, 2025, the Conseil du coton et de l'anacarde (CCA) has been distributing bush bags to cashew growers in the Madinani department.
Bagbélé Ouattara, representative of the regional delegate of the Madinani cotton and cashew council, explained the distribution of the bags was based on producers registered on the producers' list, to avoid any disagreement with other producers who have not been registered in the database for previous years.
The batches of jute bags, accompanied by the "bordereau", a discharge document, were deposited with each village chief (president of the village committee) in the department, for distribution to the growers, under the supervision of the village chiefs.s to producers, under the supervision of agents from the Conseil du coton et de l'anacarde, the Agence nationale d'appui au développement rural (ANADER) and the Organisation interprofessionnelle agricole de la filière anacarde (OIA ANACARDE).
Mr. Ouattara urged all the village chiefs who took part in the meeting to pass on this information, so that all the producers would come forward on the basis of the pre-established lists. He pointed out that growers whose fields are in production and who are not on the list must be registered on the additional list attached to the documents.
According to the sub-prefect of N'goloblasso, Hermann Kouassi, who chaired the meeting, the introduction of the cashew nut industry's own sacherie is one of the key points of the reform implemented by the Ivorian government. In this context, the CCA representation he heads must ensure that producers in the three Madinani sub-prefectures are adequately supplied.
