Côte d'Ivoire/ Students at Abidjan's Lycée Technique learn to adopt eco-friendly practices

During a workshop on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, the NGO Etoile d'Amour raised awareness and trained students from Abidjan's technical high school on ecological gestures that contribute to the fight against climate disruption.

The awareness-raising and training session was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment, Sustainable Development and Ecological Transition, through its Directorate for the Fight against Climate Change and Ecological Transition.

It is part of a tour led by the NGO "Etoile d'Amour", which aims to set up educational actions and deto raise awareness and educate the general public about the climate cause, as well as the themes and challenges of sustainable development.

The Director General of Sustainable Development and Ecological Transition, Dr Gustave Aboua, stressed the importance of such an initiative for young people, who are the future.

"We mustn't destroy the environment, so that your children and grandchildren can know what a healthy environment is all about", he told the young students.he told the young students taking part in the workshop, joined by the president of Etoile d'Amour, Elise Kouakou.

The workshop was an opportunity to encourage all the school's stakeholders to get involved in sustainable development initiatives and the preservation of the environment through eco-gestures.

Seedlings received from the Ministry of Water and Forests were symbolically offered to those present at the workshop to encourage reforestation.
