Algeria/National solidarity: signing of an agreement to strengthen the involvement of rural women in the national economy
On Tuesday in Algiers, the Ministry of National Solidarity, the Family and the Status of Women and the Ministry of the Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises signed an agreement aimed at strengthening the involvement of women, particularly in rural areas, in the national economy and activating their role in development.
The agreement was signed by the Minister for National Solidarity, the Family and the Status of Women, Soraya Mouloudji, and the Minister for the Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises, Noureddine Ouadah, in the presence of executives from both sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms Mouloudji stressed that the agreement was part of the implementation of the commitments made by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboui. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, concerning the creation of support mechanisms for female entrepreneurship, the empowerment of women and the reinforcement of their socio-economic integration.
"The aim of this agreement is to help women living in rural, mountainous, border and Saharan areas to contribute to development, by encouraging them to take advantage of support programs and micro-credits offered by the State, in order to implement micro-projects", she continued.
She also pointed out that the Ministry of National Solidarity, in coordination with the Ministry of the Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-businesses, is working to organize training courses for this category of women. organize training courses for this category of women, notably on how to put together a microcredit application, project creation techniques and measures relating to self-entrepreneurship.
The national solidarity sector will also be overseeing the launch of awareness-raising campaigns for women in the country's various wilayas, run by local solidarity units, with the participation of associations active in the field.
Ms. Mouloudji also mentioned the organization of local exhibitions to showcase the activities of women artisans, while providing them with spaces to promote and market their products.
Mr. Ouadah stressed the importance of this agreement, which is part of the coordination of efforts with the various sectors to bring together all the skills needed to build a strong economy.
He added that the convention aims to support women, activate their role in development and encourage their contribution to the national economy.
