SENEGAL-JEUNESSE-CULTURE-INFRASTRCTURES / Signing of an agreement to build 25 multifunctional platforms
On Friday, Khady Diène Gaye, Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, and Baye Niass, Director of the Agence de construction des bâtiments et édifices publics (ACBEP), signed an agreement for the construction of 25 multifunctional platforms in 25 Senegalese communes.
Today, we are signing a strategic partnership agreement with ACBEP (...) to build 25 multifunctional platforms in 25 of the country's communes", declared Khady Diène Gaye.
The construction of these local sports facilities, scheduled to start in 2025, is intended, according to the Minister, to "contribute to the restoration of territorial and social equity".
For this first phase of the program, the focus will be on sports disciplines such as handball, basketball, volleyball and baseball-fly.
This does not mean, however, that other sporting disciplines will be neglected," says Ms. Gaye, stressing that this project is an initial stage of a broader sectoral program.
With regard to the cultural component, the Minister indicated that discussions had already begun and that the content of the project would be finalized at a later date.
For his part, Baye Niass, Director of the Agence de construction des bâtiments et édifices publics (ACBEP), assured the audience that "the program of 25 multifunctional platforms will be carried out in compliance with safety norms and standards".
