Vietnam/ Bac Ninh prepares for the transition to electric cars
The Bac Ninh People's Committee has just published a document proposing policies to encourage the transition to electric cars in this northern province.
Accordingly, the Chairman of the Bac Ninh People's Committee has committed the Departments of Industry and Commerce, Finance, Planning and Investment, and Construction, according to their functions and missions, to conduct studies and then propose policies promoting the transition to electric cars in the province.
At the same time, the Transportation Department will take overall responsibility for advising and proposing the adoption of these policies. It will be responsible for developing a plan for the transition to electric buses and coaches by 2030, according to the roadmap included in the Premier's decision. This task must be completed by December 31.
In view of the report published on November 7 by the Ministry of Transport on green transport development policies, Deputy Prime Minister Trân Hông Hà has demanded that the ministries, departments and people's committees of the cities and regions of the country be involved in the development of a green transport policy.partements and people's committees of cities and provinces to set up missions to accelerate the transition to green energy in the transport and traffic sector.
The Deputy Prime Minister also asked the Ministry of Finance to look into incentive policies for taxation and public spending to encourage the use of electric vehicles, as well as direct or indirect financial support policies to accompany consumers in their transition to cars of this type.
According to statistics from Vietnam's Department of Vehicle Registration, in the first quarter of 2024 alone, the number of electric cars introduced in the country rose to 7.195, bringing the total number of electric cars manufactured and assembled in Vietnam to 30,298 since 2021.
