Algeria/ Ouled Djellal: sports event for people with special needs on their International Day
On Sunday, the Ouled Djellal wilaya social action and solidarity department, in coordination with the youth and sports department, organized a sports event for people with special needs to mark their international day (December 3).
Such sporting initiatives contribute to the social integration of this category of people, who are entitled to encouragement and support to showcase their skills and talents, said Rafik Bouzaher, Director of Social Action and Solidarity. Rafik Bouzaher, Director of Social Action and Solidarity, told APS on the sidelines of the event, which was held at the local sports complex in the Sidi Khaled commune.
Initiated for the first time in the wilaya, this event, open to boys and girls, was attended by over 60 people from various specialized centers and classes, as well as members of clubs and associations.cialized centers and classes, as well as members of the sector's soccer, athletics, table tennis and chess clubs.
For his part, Abdelghani Naamane, Director of Youth and Sports, stressed that the event was part of the implementation of the agreement signed between the two sectors, as well as the support and encouragement of sporting activities for people with special needs.
Encouragement prizes and certificates were awarded to the first-place winners in each discipline, as well as to the participants at the end of the event.
