France/ Towards a twinning with Keur-Moussa in Senegal and Languidic
The commune of Languidic (Morbihan) welcomed a delegation from Keur-Moussa in Senegal with the aim of preparing a twinning arrangement between the two communes.
Several officials from the commune of Keur-Moussa in Senegal spent several days in Languidic(Morbihan). They are working with the Pâtes Le Ruyet company to develop their production of millet, a gluten-free cereal, with the aim of transforming it into pasta," explains Christine Le Gallic, the local councillor. They took the opportunity to visit the technical services, the town hall and the Coët-Mousset site. They also visited Ema, where media library officer Mickaël Guiné showed them around the Micro-Folie.
A step towards twinning
During a previous visit to the commune, the possibility of twinning the two towns was raised. A first step in this direction was taken this time with the signing of a pre-twinning protocol between the mayor, Laurent Duval, and Gabriel Bob, deputy mayor of Keur-Moussa. " The Senegalese delegation also came as part of the structuring of this twinning project, in order to carry out an inventory of the situation, identify the key issues to be addressed and identify the most appropriate solutions. The Senegalese delegation also came as part of the process of structuring this twinning project, in order to take stock of the situation, identify possible areas of intervention and the actions to be included in the cooperation program", emphasizes the mayor.
Priority areas
For this twinning, the two communes have identified a number of priority areas of common interest. These include agriculture and the processing of agricultural products, cultural and sporting exchanges, economic development and tourism, the running of a municipality and institutional strengthening, and the promotion of exchanges between local authorities, services, and social, institutional and economic players in the two towns. The objectives are to create a dynamic of actions for the development of the economic, cultural, institutional, health, educational and environmental sectors, through an active and sustainable participation of means and resources between the town of Languidic and the commune of Keur-Moussa," says mayor Laurent Duval. It's also a question of strengthening the cooperation links that already exist between France and Senegal."
