The training, which will enable legal professionals to update their knowledge, was officially launched on May 7 by Aimé Ange Wilfrid Bininga, Minister of Justice, Human Rights and the Promotion of Indigenous Peoples.

With the support of its partners, the Congo is strengthening its legal system through training. This explains the seminar on international judicial cooperation for Congolese magistrates. Faced with the emergence of transnational crime, international judicial cooperation is essential to enhance magistrates' skills and promote a common judicial culture on a global scale", said the Chairman of the Congolese Judiciary. Aimé Ange Wilfrid Bininga, Minister of Justice, Human Rights and the Promotion of Indigenous Peoples , opened the seminar.

According to him, the themes to be discussed at this training seminar, including international judicial cooperation and the prevention and suppression of terrorism, are in line with the challenges of today's world.

For the Italian ambassador, Enrico Nunziata, mutual understanding of the respective legal frameworks is necessary, as States are faced with the same problems, including transnational crime. The European Union's Ambassador Giacomo Durazzo, for his part, believes that international judicial cooperation enables States to work together to investigate, prosecute and judge the perpetrators of offenses, regardless of their location.

It should be pointed out that training in international judicial cooperation for Congolese magistrates is organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Congolese Ministry of Justice. The course is run by Senola Superiore Sant'Anna, an Italian college of higher education, as explained by Melvis Ndiloseh, the tutor of the course on which the training is based. This school has already been involved in training magistrates in several African countries. With the Congo, this is the very first experience. " In Congo, this is the start of a series of judicial cooperation activities planned for 2024", said Melvis Ndiloseh.
