Côte d'Ivoire/ Mayor of Arrah wins award for local development projects

The mayor of the commune of Arrah, in the Moronou region, Harlette Badou N'Guessan, was crowned "Côte d'Ivoire's best mayor" for her local development projects, on Friday April 26, 2024 in Abidjan, by the Interafricaine de communication et de sondage (ICS).

Ms. N'Guessan, former Minister of Culture and current President of the Union des femmes du Rassemblement des houphouëtistes pour la démocratie et la paix (UF-RHDP), was honored in front of an audience of VIPs, including members of the government.

Explaining their choice of Harlette Badou, ICS officials highlighted the innovative projects and concrete actions initiated by the local politician, as well as her forward-looking vision and ability to mobilize local and national resources to impact the daily lives of her constituents.

"Her tenure as mayor has been marked by a series of initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, promoting education, strengthening access to healthcare and improving the quality of life of her constituents.His tenure as mayor has been marked by a series of initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, promoting education, strengthening access to healthcare, and supporting the economic development of his locality," noted Yves Ibrahim Keita, ICS Managing Director.

Welcoming the award, the mayor of Arrah expressed his gratitude to the initiators of the ceremony, his constituents, his municipal team and all the stakeholders who have contributed to the realization of his projects.

"I would like to salute and thank the ICS firm for taking a close look at our municipal management. Thanks to your investigation, our development actions in our commune have been highlighted and recognized by a Jury, and this reminds us of the imperative duty of local players to take action.rious duty for us, as local players, to constantly and effectively seek to satisfy our constituents through our achievements", enthused Ms. N'Guessan.

For Ms. N'Guessan, the award is a testament to the commitment and hard work of every member of her municipal team, as well as to the trust and support of the people who have granted her a second term of office after that ofsecond mandate after the 2018-2023 term, promising to continue her fight for greater social justice, quality infrastructure, education, environmental protection and the protection of Côte d'Ivoire's rich cultural heritage.

Harlette Badou N'Guessan is the 13th mayor to be awarded the ICS Pan-African Special Prize for "Best Mayor of Côte d'Ivoire".
