On April 20, some forty students from the Lycée privé Camara-Laye took part in a workshop on promoting children's rights and duties, on the theme "Let's learn about our rights and duties".

The training session, which took place at the Lycée Privé Camara-Laye, located diagonally across from the Saboukoulou elementary school in Ouenzé arrondissementarrondissement 5 Ouenzé, focused on a number of questions entitled "Quiz juridique". Among other things, the aim was to enable pupils to acquire legal knowledge and gather their points of view, with reference to the "Potignon law" on child protection in the Republic of Congo. "We talked to the children to get their views on the rights and duties of the child; what do they think, and how can they in turn help children whose rights have been violated?Ciani Quevai Yoka, President of the Association les Amis de l'Enfant (AAE).

For his part, Michel Carel Tsendou, AAE's communications officer, reminded the children in his remarks of what a fundamental right is. "Over 90% of the population is unaware of what we call the law. That's why we've taken the initiative to help you become adults who are different from us. We want your future to be different from ours. To achieve this, we have taken the trouble to train you in this sense. We want you to become responsible adults. That's why we chose the Potignon Law, a law that concerns children ", he explained.

The workshop was organized as part of the Projet d'appui aux dispositions juridiques de l'épanouissement social des enfants défavorisés (Project to support legal provisions for the social development of disadvantaged children), with the aim of fostering legal empowerment and the acquisition of useful knowledge to defend children's rights.
