France/ Gourin. The twinning committee sets course for St. Patrick's Day
The Gourin twinning committee held its annual general meeting on February 17 in the Salle Meyer of the Château de Tronjoly, in the presence of first deputy mayor Catherine Henry and librarian Claire Le Mené. The committee highlighted the success of the St. Patrick's Day event in March 2023, organized in partnership with the Gourin mediatheque. "We'll be repeating the experience this year, on Saturday March 16," announced André Citérin, president of the committee.
The festivities will begin with an Irish and Breton snack at 3:30 p.m., followed by a lecture entitled: Northern Ireland after the Brexit, towards a united Ireland, by Catherine Conan, lecturer at Brest", explains Claire Le Mené.
After an introduction to Irish dancing at 5 p.m., the festival will end with a fest-noz at 8:30 p.m. in the Salle Communale," adds André Citérin.
In November, an exhibition on the committee's activities since its creation, a presentation of the book by the Bretagne-Irlande confederation and various other events will also be organized at the mediatheque.
The board remains unchanged: André Citérin, president; Catherine Henry and Philippe Baudet, vice-presidents; Jean-Luc Le Danvic, secretary; Claudine Guillou, treasurer.
