Algeria/Djanet: Ambitious new projects to boost local development
The wilaya of Djanet has unveiled a series of development projects covering various sectors, aimed at boosting local development and meeting the aspirations of its citizens. Among these initiatives, the construction of a mixed border post at Tinelkoum stands out, not only to control the flow of goods and people, but also to stimulate economic activities and trade.

In the field of education, the wilaya of Djanet is benefiting from sixteen development operations, covering all three levels of education. These include the refurbishment of educational establishments and the equipment needed to improve schooling conditions for pupils.
The wilaya's real estate sector is also expanding, with the construction of 400 housing units, including 350 units for the main town and 50 units for the commune of Bordj El Houas. The health sector is marked by the creation of a 120-bed hospital, accompanied by the future acquisition of ambulances and medical equipment for health facilities, particularly those in remote areas.
Additional projects are planned in the water resources sector to boost the wilaya's drinking water supply.
As part of the drive to improve public services, some fifteen studies have been selected for the construction of departmental headquarters, with the aim of bringing administrative structures closer to citizens.
Interviewed by APS, association member Boudjemaâ Othmani expressed the local population's positive reception of these development initiatives, underlining the high hopes placed in the realization of these projects to meet expectations and promote the position of this young wilaya.
