Côte d'Ivoire/Technical education, vocational training, apprenticeship: A platform to manage learners' career paths
The French Ministry of Technical Education, Vocational Training and Apprenticeship has just set up a tool for managing learner data and tracking their training progress. Called Ersys, this platform comprises several modules. These include a module for online enrolment and management of learners in public and private establishments (enrolment module), a module for enrolment in examinations and competitive examinations, and a module for requests for guidance and assistance to the guidance commission.
At a press conference held yesterday at the Lycée Technique in Cocody, Alain Atté Yavo, explained that this tool is managed by all the departments involved in accessing and tracking learner progress. "The platform was launched a year ago, and is now functional and dynamic. We now need to communicate on its functionality. The challenge is to inform those involved in the sector that access to technical education, vocational training and apprenticeship is a two-way process. That is, by orientation and by competitive examination. From now on, access to our programs can only be gained by registering via the Earsys platform", he explained.
For this reason, the General Manager of Initial Training invited users to make it their own. "We can't manage today's learner numbers as we did in 1960. So, when it comes to orientation requests, there's no question of going back to the yellow forms. Far be it from us to play the brave man when it comes to innovation, but the image of our country recommends it, and our responsibility is engaged", explained Alain Atté Yavo. In terms of orientation statistics, for the year 2022, according to Telesphore Kanga, special advisor to the Minister of Technical Education, Vocational Training and Apprenticeship, in charge of ICT, 84,000 requests have been registered.
In terms of enrolment, around 130,000 learners have been registered. And for the year 2023, 130,918 will be enrolled in technical education, vocational training and apprenticeships. Also present at the press conference were Yéo Donapoho, Director of Examinations and Competitive Examinations (Dexc), and Saint Clair Gbendé, Director of Orientation, Scholarships and Mobility (Dobm).
