Chad: WenakLabs promotes digitalization through the new Massakory Center

WenakLabs took part in the official launch of the Massakory Digital Resource Centre on February 19. The realization of the book is an initiative of the GIZ through the Livelihood Improvement Project (PAMELOT), under the funding of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. For its part, WenakLabs is in charge of piloting the project.

On this occasion, the Executive Director of WenakLabs, Abdelsalam Safi, after the ribbon cutting, explained to the Governor of Hadjer Lamis Province, the importance of the Massakory Digital Resource Centre.

Abdelsalam Safi said the centre can improve the income prospects of young people through digitisation.
This initiative that has materialised comes at a time when more and more young people are turning to digital technology for entrepreneurship. The aim of the centre is also to improve the economic situation of women, to contribute to peaceful coexistence, but also to plan local and communal development using digital technology as a lever, Abdelsalam Safi noted.

"Dear young people of Massakory, being a native of this city, I take this opportunity to urge you to take full advantage of the potential of this center that you must use in all conscience," encouraged Abdelsalam Safi.

According to him, in this march of the digital revolution, young people have a great role to play, that of contributing effectively to the migration of ideas, the sharing of knowledge and the development of our communities. Thus, the center will provide the necessary foundations to master ICTs. Training, community activities and entrepreneurial support will be offered.

Abdelsalam Safi also noted that the users of this cyber-café will be asked to pay to help the management committee to ensure its proper functioning and renew the equipment.

After cutting the ribbon and visiting the center, the various delegations also visited the stands of entrepreneurs.
