The International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2024 opened in Indonesia on September 5, bringing together high-ranking officials, international organizations, environmental experts and over 100 companies to take part in seminars and exhibitions.

In his opening speech, Indonesian President Joko Widodo highlighted the global challenges of balancing economic growth and environmental protection to ensure a solid foundation for future generations.

He stressed the need for nations to accelerate decarbonization efforts by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and switching to sustainable energy sources to achieve net zero emissions.

Indonesia's Minister for the Coordination of Maritime Affairs, Investment and Marine Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, emphasized that the forum was an opportunity to review the targets set in the ISF 2023 and develop future solutions.

He stressed the urgent need for sustainable development against a backdrop of severe environmental degradation and its long-term impacts.

The two-day event focuses on financial and non-financial strategies for achieving sustainable growth. It also features hundreds of exhibitions showcasing sustainable production.
