La Francophonie in Vanuatu: celebration and commitment
On March 20, 2025, Vanuatu celebrated the International Day of La Francophonie with the participation of several French-speaking schools on several of the country's islands, including Mallicolo, Tanna, Santo, Pentecost and Efaté. Thanks to the support of the AUF and the French Embassy, these schools received books and goodies as part of the "Jeux étudiants de la Francophonie" project.
Educational and cultural activities, such as poems, dictations and quizzes, were organized to enhance students' language skills and promote the French language. Feedback from the schools was very positive, underlining the impact of this initiative on student motivation and the promotion of the French language. The day strengthened ties between communities and highlighted the Francophonie as a vector of culture, education and solidarity in Vanuatu.
Teachers from the Lycée de Luganville were on hand to congratulate and encourage their students at the prize-giving ceremony on Santo Island.
