Young people from all over the city came to the Binquenais sports complex in Rennes on Thursday, January 2, 2025, to take part in the neighbourhood tournament.

The Rennes neighborhood soccer tournament is open to all young people who wish to take part. This sporting event, organized by the Yelinhan association in partnership with the TA, is a success every time. Information spreads by word of mouth, and the number of volunteers increases too," says Nowfel Bensrhir, TA futsal coach, who is very involved in Yelinhan's activities.

Pro players' shirts up for grabs

On Thursday January 2, 2025, almost 80 youngsters arrived at the Binquenais sports complex in the morning, and in the afternoon, over a hundred came to relax and play. All day long, volunteers made sandwiches for the young athletes. They also handed out drinks and some mothers baked cakes for the afternoon snack," says Akilas Akele, Yelinhan's founder.

Warmed Omari, the Mayotte-born Stade Rennais player and patron of the Yelinhan association, mobilized his soccer friends to donate their shirts. When it was announced at the microphone that the shirts could be won in a raffle, the excitement really kicked into high gear! For their part, a team of volunteer hairdressers had brought along some equipment, and all afternoon they put their art to work for the youngsters in the neighborhoods.

The result? Around forty fashionable haircuts, all free of charge of course. In another, quieter room, Anissa drew designs with henna (and even glitter) on the hands of girls and young women. In short, the beauty of sport in every sense of the word.
