The Corporation de développement communautaire des Bois-Francs (CDCBF) announces its Christmas market, to be held at Place communautaire Rita-St-Pierre, 59 rue Monfette, Victoriaville, on December 4 from 3 to 8 pm.

An initiative of the CDCBF member organizations' Associative Life Committee, this market will not only enable the public to fill their Christmas stockings with a range of small gifts at sensible prices, but also to contribute to the various missions of the region's community milieu, with every purchase.

Félix Daigneault, Events Project Manager at the CDCBF, agrees with the committee's reasoning: "Every year, we noticed that many of our organizations ran fundraising campaigns during the holiday season, often offering lovely, affordable products that would complement any wish list." "Since the strength of a CDC is to unite community organizations, the idea of doing a Christmas market, focused on the positive impact of each purchase for the benefit of our population, came naturally," he continued.

Nearly twenty organizations will be offering photo shoots, handicrafts, soaps, sweets, clothing, pet accessories and many other gifts to suit all budgets. There will even be an on-site wrapping service.

For France Gagnon, Executive Director of Parcours, an organization that enables people living with disabilities to participate in work placements, this was an opportunity not to be missed. "Our participation in the Christmas market is a privileged opportunity to highlight the remarkable talents and abilities of our members. It's also a great chance to concretely demonstrate our involvement in the social and circular economy, values that guide every one of our actions within the community."

The Association coopérative d'économie familiale (ACEF) des Bois-Francs is equally enthusiastic. Budget consultant Julie Champagne, who will be offering handmade decorative items, wants to contribute to a healthier vision of the holiday season. "Our decorations are an inspiration to indulge in a creative hobby during the holidays. Refocusing on the simple things is often a good way to resist the calls of marketing. We're really looking forward to welcoming the public in this festive context," she said.

Visitors to the CDCBF Christmas Market will be able to enter through the building's exterior door 3, equipped with an access ramp for people with reduced mobility.
