Algeria/Illizi: more than 850 medical consultations for the benefit of people living in the shadowy areas

No less than 858 medical consultations were carried out during the month of January for the benefit of the populations of the shadowy areas of the wilaya of Illizi, within the framework of a medical solidarity caravan of the Algerian Red Crescent (ARC), the organizers said Sunday.

Supervised by a medical and paramedical corps, this action, for which a mobi-clinic was mobilized, made it possible to carry out medical consultations in the field.This action, which was supervised by a medical and paramedical team and a mobi-clinic was mobilized, made it possible to carry out medical consultations in general medicine and others specialized in ophthalmology and dental surgery, for the benefit of the populations of several landlocked areas, including Aherher, Fadhnoune, Afdil, Ihrir and Tarat.

Awareness meetings were also organized on diseases prevalent in the region and ways to prevent them, and preventive measures to be taken against the Covid-19 pandemic, said Belkhir Mefiçal, member of the office of the ARC of the wilaya of Illizi.

The same official also reported the delivery of medicines, batches of food products, bedding and clothing items, in addition to the management of complex cases of patients at the hospital of Illizi.

This solidarity effort is part of the activities of the ARC, which provides care for vulnerable social groups, the consecration of the spirit of mutual assistance and periodic medical support for people living in shady and isolated areas.
