Algeria/Management of youth centres: granting of 25 agreements

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Sid Ali Khaldi, supervised, Tuesday in Algiers, the operation of granting agreements for the "total or partial" management of 25 youth houses, for the benefit of youth associations in different wilayas of the country.

The minister explained that this operation intervened "to activate and concretize the mechanism of participatory management of youth houses with the youth associative movement, by allocating conventions for the total or partial management of 25 youth houses, for the benefit of youth associations in the different wilayas of the country, as a first operation that will be gradually generalized".

In this context, Mr. Khaldi recalled that the first operation took place after "the invitation issued by the Ministry, from 15 October to 5 November 2020, and which saw the participation of 622 local and national youth associations, which enabled the funding of 92 projects and thethe management of youth centres was awarded to 25 youth associations on the basis of projects under the National Youth Plan (PNJ).

The launch of the project for the participatory management of youth centres, sports centres and youth associations, comes "in concretization of the NPC/2020-2024," said the minister, stressing that this project "establishes a new phase of strategic partnership between the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Sports, and the National Youth Plan".This project "establishes a new phase of strategic partnership between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the youth associative movement, based on the conviction that investment in this partnership is the guarantee and the means to concretize the NPC, as the first unified public policy for the promotion of youth in all areas".

On this occasion, Mr. Khaldi stressed the need for "reform and modernization of youth houses, being the nucleus and cornerstone of the national youth system", citing the measures adopted to revive the youth houses to serve ".a school for citizenship and civic sense and a space to develop the capacities, energies and talents of young people in the framework of an integrated partnership between the Ministry and the associative movement".

A presentation was made on the activities of the "Marenostrum" association in the wilaya of Tipasa, which specializes in environmental activities (beach clean-up, training of young people and the development of the environment).A presentation was made on the activities of the "Aqwas" association in the wilaya of Medea, which is active in the fields of culture, leisure and science.
