Received by the Executive Director of Apex-Mali, Massoudou Cissé, a delegation from the Association of Private Press Publishers (ASSEP), led by its president, Boubacar Yalkoué, proposed the establishment of a formal framework for collaboration to support the promotion of Mali as a tourist destination.

A large delegation from the Association of Private Press Publishers (ASSEP), led by its president, Boubacar Yalkoué, was received on Friday, September 11, 2026, by the director general of the Agency for the Promotion of Exports (APEX), Massoudou Cissé.

In a cordial atmosphere, the Assep president briefly introduced the organization, its missions, and the vision of the new leadership team of the umbrella organization for the private print media. Boubacar Yalkoué praised the promptness and availability of the Apex Director General, while congratulating his team on their efforts to promote “Mali” as a destination.

According to the ASSEP president, despite a particularly challenging environment, APEX is undertaking significant initiatives to enhance Mali’s image and attract partners and investors from diverse backgrounds. In this vein, Boubacar Yalkoué reaffirmed the willingness of private press publishers to support APEX’s efforts within the framework of a mutually beneficial partnership. To this end, he proposed establishing a formal framework for collaboration that would translate this shared commitment into concrete actions.

Strongly supportive of this initiative, Apex Executive Director Massoudou Cissé, flanked by his staff, made no secret of his enthusiasm following the meeting. “This visit is an honor for Apex and comes at just the right time. It aligns perfectly with our organization’s objectives,” he stated.

Massoudou Cissé also highlighted APEX’s main missions, particularly the promotion and development of Mali’s exports of goods and services. This mission, he said, gives the agency an important role in the development of the national economy. “It is an essential link in the national economy. It is a promotional organization,” he emphasized.

With this in mind, Massoudou Cissé expressed the view that ASSEP is a prime partner for ensuring the visibility of Apex’s activities and communicating them to the public. He thus reaffirmed his institution’s support for the collaboration proposal put forward by the president of ASSEP and spoke in favor of establishing a formal framework through the creation of a win-win partnership. The Director General of Apex has already proposed that Assep participate as a partner in the second edition of Mali’s Export Days, scheduled for December 2026. He also invited ASSEP to participate in trade shows and fairs organized abroad, events for which the Director General of APEX serves as general commissioner.

At the conclusion of the discussions, both parties agreed to continue talks as soon as possible, with a view to formalizing this strategic partnership between the umbrella organization for the private press and the agency responsible for promoting Mali’s exports in the near future.
