Congo/ Women's Empowerment: Female Students Trained in Digital Careers

The partnership agreement signed on September 11 in Brazzaville between the Women’s Advisory Council (CCF) and the Hoz Fablab training center for new technologies will provide Congolese female students with training in digital careers.

For six months, as part of the “Women and Technology, Generation Innovation” scholarship program, the selected students will receive digital training focused primarily on building, designing, digitizing, and creating websites. In addition, Nicole Aurore, an instructor at the Hoz Fablab training center, noted that these students will also have the opportunity to host their websites online, among other benefits.

For her part, Sophia N’Chinga, speaking on behalf of all the students, praised the initiative. “It is with great pleasure that we welcome this partnership. Thanks to this government-led initiative, we are receiving training in the fields of digital technology, technology, and innovation, which represents an important milestone in our journey. So, we are seizing this opportunity to learn, create, innovate, and take risks,” she said .

The implementation of this agreement between the Women’s Advisory Council and the Hoz Fablab new technologies training center will place the beneficiaries at the heart of the digital economy’s development. “These are professions or fields that we often mistakenly refer to as ‘male-dominated.’ But no, the digital sector will also be shaped by women because the majority—if not all—of the teaching staff at our lab are women; in other words, it is exclusively women who teach and deliver courses to other women, who will themselves be key players in the digital sector of tomorrow ,” explained Huster Akiera Obambé , who signed the agreement on behalf of the Hoz Fablab training center.

He also praised the efforts of the Executive Secretary of the Women’s Advisory Council, Yennie Clara Mathurine Osseté Mberi Moukietou, to promote women’s training. “This first step in our initial collaboration with the executive secretary already demonstrates her department’s commitment. Women and young women, be key players in the digital sector as well, ” he said.

Finally, Huster Akiera Obambé urged the female students to be able to manufacture, design, and create in the digital sector upon completion of the training.

For her part, the Executive Secretary of the Women’s Advisory Council, Yennie Clara Mathurine Osseté Mberi Moukietou, paid tribute to the President of the Republic, Denis Sassou N’Guesso, for his unwavering commitment to advancing Congolese women and their participation in the nation’s development. As part of this training initiative, the Women’s Advisory Council, in partnership with Hoz FabLab, plans to launch the “Women and Technology Scholarship: Generation Innovation” program. “Our goal is simple: to empower young women to enter careers in digital technology and engineering. Our country’s development also depends on the intelligence and talent of our young women,” said Yennie Clara Mathurine Osseté Mberi Moukietou.

For the executive secretary, there are no longer any limits for women. They are engineers, computer scientists, entrepreneurs, and innovators. “Dear students, you have been selected based on merit and motivation. For six months, you will undergo intensive training in web development, artificial intelligence, robotics, digital design, and entrepreneurship. I encourage you to work with dedication and boldness. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Dare to create. At the end of this program, we expect you to produce concrete projects that benefit your communities. And above all, share what you have learned with other young women,” she emphasized.

In addition, the executive secretary of the Women’s Advisory Council thanked the training center for its commitment and the universities for their support. She expressed her hope that the “Women and Technology Scholarship, Innovation Generation” program would mark the beginning of a new generation of women in technology for the Congo.

To get a feel for the center, Yennie Clara Mathurine Osseté Mberi Moukietou and her entourage were given a guided tour of its facilities. The Hoz Fablab new technologies training center, located within the Brazza Mall in Mpila, Ouenzé, is a hub of creativity and innovation.
