France/In Landévant, local officials welcomed their Irish counterparts from Ballymahon as part of the town twinning program
The official reception hosted by Landévant’s elected officials for their counterparts from County Longford, where Ballymahon (Ireland) is located, took place on Thursday, September 10, at the Espace Kerverh.
As part of its sister-city partnership with the town of Ballymahon, Landévant has been hosting its Irish friends since Sunday, September 6, for a five-day visit. The packed itinerary included meetings with Landévant residents, a night out at the pub, and visits to Vannes and the Ria d’Étel, among other activities.
Claude Jean-Pierre, president of the twinning committee, is delighted with the visit, “which went very well!” Together with his team, he is already preparing the festivities for 2027, which will mark the 25th anniversary of the signing of the twinning charter in Landévant. Ideas are already taking shape around music, singing, and youth. “We’re building good momentum!” he says happily. The next event organized by the twinning committee will be a dance afternoon on November 11.
