Canada/FIPEC Industries receives nearly $300,000 to modernize its facilities
Hope Town-based FIPEC Industries is receiving $295,250 in financial assistance from the federal government to support its activities in the metal processing sector, which has been hard hit by the tariffs.
The funding will be used to automate a production line for traps used in commercial and scientific fishing.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by Canada Economic Development.
This support is part of a broader initiative to assist small and medium-sized enterprises in Quebec's metal processing industry, which are facing major marketing challenges in a changing economic context.
In all, 99 companies share an envelope of nearly $64 million.
