The Mong Cai international border post, under the Quang Ninh provincial border guard command, announced on Thursday February 5 that it had collaborated with China's Dongxing border post to open a priority lane for ambulances carrying patients in need of urgent care, an initiative motivated by a strong sense of responsibility and humanitarian spirit.

At around 4.20pm on the same day, a green lane was activated at Bac Luân II bridge to allow an ambulance with registration number 15N-049.80 to transfer Zhang Huizhong, a 63-year-old Chinese man suffering from a cerebral infarction, to China for emergency treatment.

Earlier, the two sides had also opened a priority lane for an ambulance with registration number 14A-022.01 to transport another 41-year-old Chinese stroke victim to China for treatment.

In late 2025, the Vietnamese authorities repeatedly opened these priority lanes to speed up the repatriation of their Chinese nationals facing medical emergencies, acting swiftly on humanitarian grounds. These timely interventions have enabled a rapid response to urgent public and individual health needs, while strengthening economic and medical links between the Vietnamese city of Mong Cai and the Chinese city of Dongxing.

By streamlining these emergency crossings, the bilateral agreement has strengthened friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China, expanded cross-sector collaboration, underscored proactive engagement in global economic integration, and advanced economic and trade relations.conomic integration, and advanced administrative reforms in entry and exit management, benefiting citizens on both sides of the border, particularly those in the border communities of Mong Cai and Dongxing.
