France/Saint-Laurent-d'Arce: the town's twinning committee is as dynamic as ever
The members of the Saint-Laurent-d'Arce Twinning Committee with Germany held their general meeting on Saturday January 24 in the town's Salle des Associations. Committee president Fatima Suberville opened the meeting by thanking the members present for their participation and commitment to the...
The year 2025 was marked by a strong associative dynamic that led to the organization of several highly successful events: theater evenings, Printemps des plantes, gourmet walk and Pink October walk, Christmas market, first edition of Medieval Day and linguistic aperitifs.
Medieval Day
The theater evenings are a growing success, with more and more requests from troupes, making it possible to consider an additional date per year," explains the president. The medieval day, organized at Chapelle Magrigne in partnership with Arhal, was a great success and will be repeated in 2026. The language aperitifs ran smoothly at the start of the year, before being put on hold for organizational reasons. Klingenberg am Main, with a stopover in Reims, was much appreciated by participants and strengthened the twinning links".
The president reminds us that the association's objectives are to encourage cultural exchanges and share good times, but also to promote the Comité de Jumelage and make it known to a wider public. The Franco-German evening to be held on January 29, 2026 (see our January 19 issue), was initiated in 2025 as part of a call for projects, and received support from the Franco-German Citizen Fund, enabling it to become a reality. The aim of the evening is to strengthen cultural exchanges, promote Franco-German friendship and give the twinning committee a high profile.
The treasurer presented the financial statement for 2025, showing that the accounts are balanced and reflect the association's sound management. The president then presented the plans for 2026, with the renewal of key events: the second edition of the medieval day, the continuation and development of the teathe second edition of the medieval day, the continuation and development of theater evenings, the relaunch of language apéros with a monthly format geared towards practicing German, preparations for the visit of German friends in 2027 and plans to celebrate 47 years of twinning in 2027.
