L'Europe des communes is a service provided by the European Commission to help local elected representatives take account of European policies. It provides operational tools for a better understanding of the European Union's priorities and policies, and their integration into local public policies.

Twinning is the oldest and most widespread form of international action undertaken by local authorities. It's a way of strengthening the sense of belonging to Europe, while enabling citizens to open up to other cultures and exchange views on common issues. This month, L'Europe des communes publishes the practical information sheet "Developing your twinning".
