Saturday December 27 and Sunday December 28, 2025, from 3pm to 5pm, the Franco-British Ouistreham-Angmering and Franco-German Ouistreham-Lohr am Main twinning committees get together. On the program: cultural and convivial events at the Grange aux Dîmes, in Ouistreham (Calvados).

The Franco-British Ouistreham-Angmering and Franco-German Ouistreham-Lohr am Main twinning committees are getting together on Saturday December 27 and Sunday December 28, 2025.

In a typically British atmosphere, visitors will be able to discover the unmissable English Tea Time. Room 1 of the Grange aux Dîmes will be transformed into a tea room. Five volunteers, Marie-Claude, Bénédicte, Chantal and Nathalie, from the Angmering-Ouistreham twinning association, will be on hand to welcome the public, offering tastings and drinks for sale on site.

Our English correspondent Lynne has brought back some delicious scones from Kent, to be enjoyed with orange jam and, of course, a specially scented tea.a specially scented tea, from 4 to 5 p.m.", explains Didier Conflant, president of the Angmering-Ouistreham twinning association for the past thirty years.

This English town in Sussex has been twinned with Ouistreham since 1976, and today has around fifty members, including twenty-five families. It's become a second family. In 2026, we'll be celebrating 50 years of exchanges," he points out.

A quiz and recipes

On Sunday December 28, the Ouistreham-Lohr am Main Franco-German twinning association will be staging a different kind of event. It won't be a tea party, but a fun quiz about Christmas traditions in Germany, accompanied by typical holiday recipes," explains Christel Le Moal, president of the association. Created in 1992 by Marie-Hélène Flambard, former deputy mayor of Ouistreham, and Siegfried Selinger, then mayor of Lohr am Main, the Franco-German twinning association in northern Bavaria has been promoting sporting, cultural and friendly exchanges between families in Normandy and Lower Franconia for over thirty years.

The families welcome their guests in a spirit of conviviality, with outings planned to get to know each other better, exchange ideas and strengthen the bonds of Franco-German friendship", concludes Christel Le Moal.

Saturday December 27 and Sunday December 28, 2025, from 3pm to 5pm, salle 1 de la Grange aux Dîmes, Ouistreham.
