Launch of the official website for the 19th AUF General Assembly and the 5th Semaine mondiale de la Francophonie scientifique

The Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) launches the official website for its 19th General Assembly (GA) and 5th World Week of the Francophonie in Science (WWFS). They will be held from November 3 to 6, 2025 in Dakar (Senegal).

Two major events for the AUF

From November 3 to 5, 2025: the 19th AUF General Assembly.
From November 4 to 6, 2025: the 5th Semaine mondiale de la Francophonie scientifique, organized for the first time in sub-Saharan Africa.

The General Assembly: a key moment for AUF governance

Held every four years, the General Assembly brings together the AUF's member institutions to define its major orientations.
Three key moments will structure this 2025 edition:
- The election of the new AUF president,
- The renewal of the governing bodies,
- The adoption of the new 2025-2029 strategy.

General Assembly program

World Francophonie Science Week

The5th Semaine mondiale de la Francophonie scientifique will be marked by two events:

  • The 5th Assises internationales de la Francophonie scientifique

Comprising workshops and panels, the Assises will provide an opportunity to discuss the priorities and challenges facing the Francophonie scientifique, such as artificial intelligence and disinformation.
Youth, employability and entrepreneurship, scientific publishing and student mobility will be the subject of dedicated workshops.
Africa will be in the spotlight with the Francophone Scientific Africa workshop.
Assises program

  • The5th Francophone Ministerial Conference of Ministers Responsible for Higher Education and Research

An annual event, the Ministerial Conference aims to address the issues of university education and scientific research. Discussions aim to consolidate the foundations and determine the priorities of Francophone scientific diplomacy.
