Burkina Faso: Enabel contributes to the Nakambé education stakeholders' consultation framework
Enabel supports the government in its efforts to ensure quality education in Burkina Faso. As part of its actions, the agency has provided technical and financial support to facilitate the holding of a consultation framework between decentralized education structures and partners working in the field of education, literacy and training in the Nakambé region (formerly Centre-Est). The opening ceremony was held on Wednesday September 24, 2025, in Koupéla.
"Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world", said Nelson Mandela. Convinced of the crucial role played by this sector in the country's development, Enabel is working with the Burkinabe government to ensure quality education that takes into account every link in the chain. That's why, on Wednesday September 24, 2025, education stakeholders, technical and financial partners, etc. met to discuss the subject of education in the Nakambé region, after the challenges had been identified by the state partner.
Since 2022, this framework for consultation between the various players involved in the education sector has not been held in the locality. For Pierre Silga, Nakambé regional director of pre-school, primary and non-formal education, the resumption of these exchanges is a welcome development. These exchanges are intended to be participative and inclusive, with a view to ensuring quality, resilient education in tune with current realities.
A sentiment shared by the province's governor, Colonel Aboudou Karim Lamizana, who praises the actions of partners and Enabel in particular, which is multiplying its actions in favor of the education sector. "Since 2015, you have made a considerable contribution to meeting the ever-increasing needs of educational players in high security challenge areas to promote the continuation of teaching and learning activities. Your actions are to be commended, especially as they are in line with the presidential initiative for quality education for all, which aims to build a high-performance, resilient education system," he said.
It's worth noting that the workshop will cover a wide range of topics. "First, we'll take stock of the schools that have reopened. Secondly, we'll look at the various challenges facing the education sector; specifically, identifying the needs for education in emergency situations. Together, we'll be studying the causes and consequences of the school wastage we're facing, while striving to find endogenous solutions to reduce it to a minimum, and to improve the quality of education.and enable as many children as possible to go to school", said the Nakambé regional director of pre-school, primary and non-formal education.
