On Saturday, Sinna Amadou Gaye, Managing Director of the Agence nationale pour la promotion de l'emploi des jeunes (ANPEJ), officially launched a program to boost the employability of young people and women in the Kaolack department (center).

We have launched this program in partnership with the Caisse des dépôts et consignations, whose Managing Director, Fadilou Keïta, has kindly agreed to provide us with a financial contribution of 20 million CFA francs to support this program," she declared.

According to her, the aim of the program is to support young people and women through technical training to equip them with entrepreneurial, behavioral and managerial skills, enabling them to integrate into the socio-economic environment.

The program, she explained, is based on three components: technical skills reinforcement, post-training follow-up and support, and financing via the provision of start-up kits to help young people and women launch income-generating activities.

The ANPEJ Managing Director justifies the choice of the Kaolack department by the fact that, in addition to being a "crossroads area", it has a great deal of potential, particularly in the fields of agriculture and industry.

In this department, unemployment is high among young people, but especially among women. We felt it necessary to provide them with support to enable them to enter the socio-professional world," said Sinna Amadou Gaye.

For her part, Sarata Sonko, deputy mayor of the Kaolack commune, declared that this program to strengthen the employability of young people and women had come at the right time.

It's not always easy for young people, like women, to find work, because, for the most part, they don't have the skills required to do the jobs they are given," she stressed.

The mayor's representative also made it known that the municipality of Kaolack is willing to support this ANPEJ initiative to ensure the success of the training program.
