Guadeloupe

To mark the start of the new school year, the Lakou Bosco association, the Union des Entreprises-MEDEF Guadeloupe and the Rotary Club have joined forces to help families in difficulty. It's an unprecedented initiative for solidarity, and a symbol of new cooperation between the business world and working-class neighborhoods in Guadeloupe.

On Wednesday August 13, some twenty families supported by the Lakou Bosco association received complete back-to-school kits, including supplies, sports equipment and licenses. The operation, jointly funded by MEDEF Guadeloupe and the Rotary Club, aims to provide children with the conditions for a dignified start to the new school year, without leaving anyone behind.

Beyond the gesture, this initiative places the human aspect at the center: workshops, exchanges and testimonials will strengthen ties between families, entrepreneurs and Rotary Club members, in a spirit of shared experience and mutual respect.

Joining forces for a more inclusive society

The alliance between the three organizations is based on a strong conviction: the barriers between the business world and so-called "sensitive" territories must be broken down. Together, they aim to promote the social and professional inclusion of young people from working-class neighborhoods, through concrete actions such as mentoring, internships and company visits.

The aim is clear: to build lasting bridges, break down isolation, and give everyone the opportunity to play an active role in their own future.

A model of local cooperation

For the partners, this project is much more than a one-off event. It embodies a model of local cooperation, based on co-construction and shared commitment. " We don't want anyone to do anything FOR us, but WITH us", says Roberte Berchel, a mother involved with Lakou Bosco. It's a powerful message, and one that has been taken on board by business and community players alike.
