France/NOTE AUX COLLECTIVITÉS TERRITORIALES. Consultations - Second Conference on Parliamentary Diplomacy and Decentralized Cooperation

More than a year after the first edition, the Délégation pour les collectivités territoriales et la société civile is pleased to announce the second edition of the Assises de la diplomatie parlementaire et de la coopération décentralisée. dition of the Assises de la diplomatie parlementaire et de la coopération décentralisée, to be held in autumn 2025 at the Quai d'Orsay, on the initiative of Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
With this in mind, the Minister has launched a wide-ranging consultation of those involved in the external action of local authorities and parliamentary diplomacy, in order to gather your views and proposals.
This consultation is structured around three priorities:
- Simplify procedures and develop new tools for local foreign action;
- Strengthening France's voice in international bodies of local authorities;
- Better align local foreign action with national priorities.
It also covers five cross-cutting themes, defined in consultation with the National Commission for Decentralized Cooperation: feminist diplomacy, economic cooperation, humanitarian strategy, regional integration of overseas France and the French-speaking world.
