France/Saint-Hilaire-Peyroux. 15 years of twinning with Schopfloch
Saint-Hilaire-Peyroux. The twinning with Schopfloch celebrated its 15th anniversary. In 2010, the two Correze communes of Favars and Saint-Hilaire-Peyroux signed a twinning agreement with the German commune of Schopfloch in Middle Franconia, in northern Bavaria.
For 15 years, despite the 1,000 km separating them, elected representatives and local residents have hosted numerous meetings and exchanges on both sides of the Rhine, as well as visits to Chamonix and the Ile d'Oléron.
To mark the 15 th anniversary of this twinning, a delegation from Correze, led by Alain Delage, deputy mayor of Saint-Hilaire-Peyroux and president of the twinning com committee, and Jean-Luc Boucharel, deputy mayor of Favars, visited Germany at the invitation of Oswald Czech, mayor of Schopfloch, and Bernhard Hess, president of the twinning committee. Hosted by Bavarian families, the Corréziens visited Cadolzburg, the Hohenzolern castle, and attended the musical Mademoiselle Marie before an audience of over 600, including delegations from other twinned towns in Corrèze. They also attended a musical concert in Dinkelsbhul, flew over the region... Next year, it will be the turn of the two Correze communes to welcome their German friends.
