Sénégal/Magal de Touba: Sénégal numérique installs 40 free Internet connection points

The national company Sénégal numérique S.A. has installed forty free Internet connection points and reinforced the video surveillance system in the holy city of Touba, in the run-up to the Grand Magal scheduled for August 13, according to its General Secretary.

"This year, a transmission device and a wifi system have been set up to enable all pilgrims to connect free of charge to the Internet", announced Mouhamadou Kabir Diop on Tuesday, at the end of a courtesy visit to the religious authorities of the religious city.

The secretary of Sénégal numérique S.A said that forty access points had been deployed across the city to facilitate connectivity during the Magal, which attracts thousands of worshippers from Senegal and other countries around the world every year.

Mouhamadou Kabir Diop also announced the reinforcement of the video surveillance system made available to the defense and security forces, to ensure better security for pilgrims.

The Senegal numérique delegation expressed its satisfaction with the visit, which was marked by prayers from the Khalifa General of the Mourides, Serigne Mountakha Mbacké.
