Côte d'Ivoire/ More than 33 tonnes of fertilizer and seeds distributed to women's associations in Korhogo

On Sunday, July 27, 2025, the deputy mayor of the Korhogo commune, Ouattara Lacina, known as Lass PR, presented more than 33 tons of fertilizer, seeds, watering cans and sprayers to the commune's women's vegetable-growing associations, with the aim of improving the profitability of agriculture.

Mr. Ouattara, explained that this initiative aims to enable women to improve their yields. "This donation is an initiative of H.E.M. Alassane Ouattara, who has enabled the associations to have fertilizers, seeds, watering cans and sprayers to take better care of their fields," he said.

The Minister of Communication, Amadou Coulibaly, the Minister of Oil and Energy, Mamadou Sagafowa Coulibaly, the Minister-Director of Cabinet of the President of the Republic, Fidèle Gboroton Sarassoro... also supported the distribution.

The mayor also expressed his thanks to the Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production, Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, for his constant support for this initiative to provide fertilizer to women producers.

The 1st Vice-President of the Poro Regional Council, Salimou Coulibaly, praised the leadership and vision of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Alassane Ouattara, for a peaceful and prosperous Côte d'Ivoire. He invited the population to offer prayers for the President and his family, while encouraging peace in the run-up to the presidential elections next October.

The central sub-prefect of Korhogo, Detto Marcelin Kouassi, expressed his gratitude to the donor for his commitment to development actions. He reaffirmed the Ivorian government's commitment to working for the well-being of the population.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Tuo Fanta, a widow, praised the mayor's initiative, underlining that these actions had enabled her to send her children to school and improve her production.

This initiative is part of ongoing support for Korhogo's rural women, considered to be the pillars of local development, and aims to combat food insecurity in the region.
