Call for projects AUF 2024-2025: the LTT network implements its roadmap
The Lexicology, Terminology and Translation (LTT) network, winner of the AUF 2024-2025 call for projects, has embarked on the first phase of its activities. Here's a look back at the highlights of this deployment.
The LTT (Lexicology, Terminology, Translation) network has launched two major projects on its roadmap:
- A series of training courses on the challenges of artificial intelligence (AI)
- A North-South university cooperation program, based on student mobility.
Three training courses to raise awareness of AI issues
In partnership with its member laboratories, the LTT network offered three awareness-raising courses between April and May 2025, as part of the AUF 2024 Networks Project.
In April, DataFranca.org spoke on the foundations of AI and its ethical issues, from a digital literacy perspective.
In May, a second training session addressed the professional uses of conversational agents, focusing on the cognitive and ethical risks associated with their misuse.
A third session explored methods of acquiring specialized terms, notably via dedicated software and ChatGPT, with a focus on developing critical thinking in education.
North-South university cooperation takes shape
At the same time, an internal call for projects led to the emergence of a partnership between :
- CERTTAL (Centre de recherche en traductologie, en terminologie arabe et en langues) of the École de Traducteurs et d'Interprètes de Beyrouth (ETIB),
- TELL (Technologies et Environnement linguistiques) of the University of Mons (Belgium).
The aim of this partnership is to develop an introductory course in computational linguistics and pre-editing, aimed at undergraduate students.
The first mobility in the context of this project took place in June 2025 at the TELL center in Mons. It fully illustrates the mission of the LTT network: to support lexicology, terminology and translation through cooperation and training, while ensuring the next generation of French-speaking scientists through international mobility.
