France

The TotalEnergies Foundation is pleased to announce a brand new partnership with the Avenir Santé association for the deployment of the "Prevention of traffic accidents in festive environments" project. This ambitious program, spanning seven French regions, targets 15,000 young people - aged 16 to 25 and regular attendees of festivals, concerts and clubs - with the aim of reducing traffic accidents through a preventive and interactive approach.

As part of this partnership, in 2025, 110 young people will be mobilized by the association to carry out 30 traffic accident prevention initiatives. These actions will take place at the heart of gatherings and social venues popular with young people, in a variety of environments: urban, rural and semi-rural.

A major problem

Every year, festive environments are the scene of risky behaviours such as excessive alcohol consumption, drug use and the use of distractors at the wheel. Faced with these challenges, the project aims to raise awareness among all young people, whatever their profile, regardless of their mode of travel (light vehicles, two-wheelers, etc.).hicles, two-wheelers, etc.), while also integrating new forms of soft mobility (bicycles, electric bikes, scooters, etc.).).

Thanks to the support of the TotalEnergies Foundation, the Avenir Santé association will be able to work with 15,000 young people in all its geographical branches. The aim is clear: to prevent road accidents, which are still the main cause of death. This partnership is a strong gesture in the direction of young people, as they will not only be the primary beneficiaries but also the main players, as the actions will be carried out by specially trained young people.Renaud Bouthier Director, Avenir Santé association

A program structured around 4 key phases:

  1. Mobilization and training of young workers: By 2025, 110 young volunteers on civic service or employed by the association (prevention and outreach workers) will be trained in the field to carry out prevention initiatives. This phase comprises three phases: an initial one-month training course, ongoing training before each intervention, and additional training tailored to the needs of the young workers.
  2. Collaboration with organizers of festive events: A close partnership will be developed with festivals, student associations, clubs and other festive venues, to help them reflect on how to prevent road accidents and implement appropriate prevention measures.
  3. Prevention actions at the heart of gatherings: In 2025, 30 actions will be organized at the heart of young people's festive events, through dedicated awareness-raising areas (stands with educational tools such as alcohol simulators, simulation glasses, games, etc.) or strolls.).
  4. Evaluation of actions: Regular analyses will be carried out to measure the impact of initiatives and ensure their ongoing improvement.

A wide target audience in seven French regions

These initiatives will directly benefit 15,000 young people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, as well as organizers of festive events in seven French regions: Île-de-France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Occitanie, Pays de la Loire, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

This partnership with Avenir Santé completes the initiatives that the TotalEnergies Foundation supports to further prevention and awareness-raising among young people exposed to risks on the road. It reaffirms our Foundation's commitment to youth and road safety, with the aim of reducing the number of victims and contributing to the goal set by the United Nations: halve the number of deaths and serious injuries caused by road accidents by 2030.Jacques-Emmanuel Saulnier Director of Corporate Citizenship and Managing Director of the TotalEnergies Foundation
