Chad: training in sewing, hospitality and pastry-making, 105 The Maison nationale de la Femme organized the closing ceremony of the sewing, hospitality and pastry-making training workshop on Tuesday, marked by the presentation of certificates to 105 learners.

In her speech, Ms. Amira Charfadine Dicko, Director of Technical and Vocational Training, recalled that this three-month session had enabled 25 women to be trained in sewing, 30 in hotel management and 50 in pastry-making. She praised the learners' commitment and stressed that the training was designed to enable them to acquire the skills they needed to set up their own businesses.

For her part, Ms Maïmouna Abdelkarim Adam Kourbou, General Manager of the Maison nationale de la Femme, said that the ceremony marked both the end of a stage and the start of a new journey. She stressed the importance of vocational training as a lever for emancipation and personal development.

"Training is the key to autonomy. That's why we've designed training courses adapted to the realities of the market, supervised by experienced and passionate professionals", she asserted. Also taking the floor, Ms. Zara Abdelkadir Oumar, Director of Vocational Training, pointed out that this ceremony marks the official closing of the 13th cohort of hospitality and sewing training courses, and the launch of the 14th cohort.

She emphasized that vocational training is a powerful tool in the fight against unemployment and the social exclusion of young people and women. She also called on the National Youth Council to mobilize collectively around the challenges of employment, recalling that this vision is fully in line with the orientations of the government headed by Field Marshal Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno.

The ceremony ended on a note of encouragement, underlining the importance of continuing efforts to empower women and young people in Chad.
