KRG Director Soro Gaoussou Roger emphasized that the training was part of an effort to build the capacities of young people, agricultural technicians and government officials.

"The aim is to pass on composting skills, raise awareness of the causes of soil degradation and encourage the adoption of good agricultural practices," he said.

The training took place in two stages: a theoretical phase focused on understanding environmental issues, and a practical phase devoted to the production of solid and liquid compost, incorporating biological pest control techniques.

Mr. Soro also stressed the importance of environmental awareness.

"We are training these agents to become community relays capable of passing on the knowledge they have acquired and playing an active role in conserving natural resources," he said.

The participants, satisfied with the quality of the training, expressed their gratitude for this opportunity. This initiative comes at a time when sustainable land management is becoming a strategic issue in the face of the effects of climate change in the region.
