The "Cahors les Patrimoines en mouvement" association is organizing another day of clean-up and rehabilitation of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela near Cahors.

On Saturday June 21, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the "Cahors les Patrimoines en mouvement" association, in collaboration with "1,000 Mains à la Pâte", is organizing a second half-day of path enhancement and clean-up in the Cahors area.

Along the greenway near Cahors

This morning will focus on cleaning up access to the Cavaniès reach for a future enhancement program, clearing brush and cleaning up the existing GR36 on either side of Cavaniès near Bégoux and along the new greenway near Cahors. along the new greenway. This stretch of path is little or not at all maintained.

Yet it is often used by Cadurcians and pilgrims taking the Célé route from Figeac.

The "Cahors les Patrimoines en mouvement" association organizes quarterly half-days (or full days) of voluntary action to clean up and enhance the Chemin de Saint-Jacques (GR65), as well as other paths and GRs in the Cahors and Grand Cahors area. These actions are carried out in partnership with other local associations and the relevant authorities (Mairie, Grand Cahors, Office de tourisme, etc.).

In addition to the sections that have already been upgraded, the association is always keen to hear about paths that need upgrading, or that are poorly maintained or not at all.

How to get involved

You don't need any special training for this operation, just gloves, hat and gardening equipment. As part of the area concerned will be cleared of undergrowth, those who have a brush cutter are advised to bring it with them.

Morning schedule : 9 a.m. welcome, presentation, team allocation, 9.15 a.m. deployment to sites and workcamps, 12 noon end of work, regrouping, assessment and welcome drink offered by the association, 12.30 p.m. picnic "out of the bag" in a convivial and good-humored atmosphere. Please register by e-mail to s.antignac@wanadoo.fr (giving your full name, telephone number and e-mail address). Registrants will receive confirmation by return, together with a few practical recommendations.

The aim of this half-day event is as much to enhance the value of the path as to create a dynamic for the enhancement of our paths based on volunteer work by and for their users.
