Côte d'Ivoire/ Thirty local entrepreneurs trained in digitalization and online sales in Kong
Thirty local entrepreneurs from different sectors and trades were trained in digitalization and online sales at a workshop held from May 26 to 30, 2025 at the prefecture's meeting room.
The event is part of the Community Development Planning and Local Economy Dynamization (PDC/DEL) program, an initiative of the State of Côte d'Ivoire with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The aim was to introduce participants to the fundamentals of digital marketing and the use of social networks, and to present innovative technologies adapted to participants' sectors of activity to develop their economic activities.
Kamagaté Bamory, in charge of monitoring and evaluation for the community development and local economic revitalization program, reaffirmed the government's commitment to working for the well-being of rural populations. "The skills you have acquired are now levers for transforming your activities and increasing your income. It's up to you to put them into practice", he said.
Kong's prefect, Ouattara Yacouba, welcomed the initiative, stressing the importance of training tradesmen so that they can benefit from the fruits of the country's economic growth.
One of the workshop participants, Yoboué Yao Yves, expressed his gratitude to the government for this opportunity, which will enable them to emerge from precariousness by improving their income through the digitization of their activities. "This training has enabled us to see the many advantages of digitalization. It's a great joy to discover this, and we're going to put it into practice", he asserted.
In addition to the entrepreneurs, the institutional and technical capacities of the deconcentrated and decentralized administrations were strengthened with a view to monitoring-evaluation, reporting and decision-making in the implementation of community development actions.
