On April 26 in Brazzaville, Issa Attye, Executive Director of the Burotop Iris Foundation, handed over laptops to young women project leaders selected as part of the Femme et Entrepreneuriat Numérique au Congo (FENC) program, who are attending a training course at the digital manufacturing laboratory (Fablab).

This gesture of encouragement will enable these women entrepreneurs to move forward serenely with their projects and achieve their ambitious goals. This Women and Digital Entrepreneurship program in the Congo is important because it also works to raise awareness and educate. By encouraging these women to take the plunge into entrepreneurship, the program helps to break down stereotypes.

The Femme et Entrepreneuriat Numérique au Congo (Women and Digital Entrepreneurship in the Congo) program is a strategic and ambitious initiative aimed at reducing the gender digital divide. By equipping participants with skills in innovation, digital technologies and entrepreneurial project management, it paves the way for a new generation of women entrepreneurs capable of making a positive impact on the Congolese economy.

The incubation period for these women entrepreneurs will last until June. The women's entrepreneurial projects are different, and so are their prototypes. They will learn about the innovation process, the design of development platforms, management and more, in order to implement sustainable solutions.

The involvement of the NGO Elite Women's Club in this training program is fully in line with their mission to promote women's empowerment through leadership, innovation and access to economic opportunities.

"Today, digital technology is an essential lever for economic emancipation. By investing in training women in digital and entrepreneurial skills, we give them the means to create, innovate and build solutions for the future. Our commitment is therefore a natural one: to support women so that they become major players in development and digital transformation. In my view, training is a peaceful weapon for breaking down barriers, reducing inequalities and unleashing the full potential of women," says Splendide Gavet, President of the NGO Elite Women's Club.

Women's training is a fundamental issue. It is a right, a lever for social justice and a powerful driver of sustainable development. Training a woman has a positive impact on an entire community. It means access to financial autonomy, self-confidence and full economic citizenship.

The Director of the Burotop Iris Foundation, Diana Attye, underlined the importance of this initiative: "Investing in young women means investing in innovation and in the future of the Congo. We believe in their potential and are proud to accompany them on the path to digital entrepreneurship".

In the local market, entrepreneurs often face a number of difficulties: financing, lack of equipment, stock shortages, taxation and others. "To be the master of your project, you have to innovate all the time. We've seen startups disappear two or three years later. You always have to readapt the product or service to users' needs", said Gildas Moboula, Fablab manager.
