On Tuesday April 22, the commune of Vallabrègues hosted a site meeting for the construction of two new 160 m² "ateliers relais".

Launched a few weeks ago, the aim is to finalize construction by autumn this year, thus providing an ideal location for new or expanding businesses. At the meeting, Jean-Marie Gilles, Mayor of Vallabrègues, stressed the importance of these "ateliers relais", which enable companies to set up in the commune at attractive rents for a period of five years.

Support from the CCBTA and the Region

In his opinion, this initiative represents a real lever for the economic development of Terre d'Argence, by encouraging new businesses to set up here while supporting those already present in the area. The total cost of the project is €780,000 including tax, financed mainly by the Beaucaire Terre d'Argence Community of Communes (CCBTA). The Occitanie region is also contributing to the project with a grant of €96,125.

Attracting new business

Juan Martinez, president of the CCBTA, also recalled that the communauté de communes' objective is to encourage job creation and economic growth. "To create jobs and wealth, we need to support businesses, retain them and attract new economic activities", he explained. He added that this Vallabrègues project is not a first: it follows a similar initiative in Beaucaire, where four workshops were built in the Domitia zone, and in Bellegarde with a workshop in the Rieu zone. Other projects are already in the pipeline in Jonquières-Saint-Vincent, in the Brou zone. The companies responsible for carrying out the work revolve around the communauté de communes. " It's the economy that finances our community, so it's essential to support businesses in their development", insisted Juan Martinez.

Finally, Monique Novaretti, regional councillor, expressed her satisfaction at seeing the region and the communauté de communes working together to preserve and develop local employment. She emphasized the importance of supporting the craft sectors, an area in which the Occitanie region has recognized know-how. In her opinion, this type of initiative contributes to the economic vitality of the region and the sustainability of local employment. Thanks to the collaboration between local players, the region and the CCBTA, companies will be able to benefit from favorable conditions to develop and create jobs in the region.
