Côte d'Ivoire/ Rubber company to train producers in tapping in Aboisso

Société de caoutchouc d'Aboisso (SCA) has announced its intention to train producers in tapping and other rubber production activities, during a tour of several localities from April 23 to 26, 2025.

According to Serges Katcha, technical advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors in charge of public relations, traceability and raw material supply, this training aims to teach growers and their tappers the appropriate tapping methods.

The aim is to preserve the lifespan of the trees and enable growers to obtain a sustainable yield. Once trained, growers will also be able to monitor the work of the tappers they employ.

The company is also planning to proceed with edge-of-field purchasing to bring collection closer to production sites, reduce travel and limit road hassle when transporting production to the factory.

During the discussions, she announced the creation of nurseries to encourage the renewal of orchards and the establishment of new plantations. She also plans to open phytosanitary stores in the areas concerned, to supply products adapted to the preservation of trees.

M. Katcha also presented the EUDR project (European Union Regulation against Deforestation and Degradation of Forests), which aims to prevent deforestation and forest degradation.which aims to prevent products linked to deforestation from entering the European Union.

Producers have welcomed the initiative and made proposals to the company to improve the implementation of the announced projects.

The company was supported by the Conseil hévéa - palm à huile of the Sud-Comoé region.

The localities of Assouba, Ayamé, Maféré and Bianouan were visited during the tour.
