France/A trip of friendship and discovery to celebrate 20 years of twinning between Villeneuve-de-la-Rivière and El Valle

The 20 years of twinning were celebrated in Villeneuve last October, and now a delegation of Villeneuvois, including associations, citizens, elected representatives and members of Villeneuve d'ici et d'ailleurs (VIA), spent a week in Andalusia to celebrate twenty years of friendship and cooperation.

Christine Ruiz, Vice-President of VIA, organized the trip in cooperation with Christina Zarco, Deputy Mayor of El Valle, in order to perpetuate the ties that have united them for so long.

A trip with a varied program combining cultural visits, economic discoveries, gastronomic delights and, above all, human encounters. Participants were able to explore the architectural and historical treasures of the El Valle region, discover local agricultural and craft initiatives, and savour Andalusian specialities in a warm and festive atmosphere.

Above and beyond the visits, these are above all sincere exchanges, moments of sharing and discussion around memories and future projects.
