Congo/ Salon de l'entrepreneuriat féminin au Congo: second edition to be held next June
Initiative des jeunes engagés, a platform for reflection and action chaired by Harris Malonga, will be organizing the second Salon de l'entrepreneuriat féminin au Congo (Sefco) from June 28 to July 5 at the Pointe-Noire Chamber of Commerce, on the theme "Building intelligently and innovating for a better Congo".
The initiative to organize Sefco stems from the desire to bring together women entrepreneurs on a national and international scale around a platform for dialogue and experience-sharing. The aim is to provide an appropriate solution to the many problems faced by entrepreneurs in general, and by women in particular, to give them a broader view of financing institutions, to enable them to benefit from financial support, and to promote the development of their businesses.to give them a broader view of financing institutions, to provide them with financial support, to train them in the many modules that govern the entrepreneurial world, to share with them the experience of other inspiring women in the entrepreneurial world and to respond to all their concerns.
The event will be attended by women from networks and associations, entrepreneurs, heads of financing/credit institutions, participants and speakers, public policy-makers and academics. Sefco is also a business show. Companies will have the opportunity to present their projects, services and needs, with no restrictions as to sector of activity.As a trade show too, Sefco will be flooded with stands available to all those who have subscribed to a registration pack. Guided exhibition tours will also be offered. During the show, a call for projects will be launched. All those who take part in this competition and come out on top will benefit from financial support and regular follow-up in the implementation of their entrepreneurial activity.
A show with big ambitions
Sefco is a platform for meetings, training, exchanges and exhibitions between partners, sponsors, exhibitors and participants from home and abroad. Through this platform, the organizers aim to achieve five main objectives: raise awareness of financing initiatives in favor of women's entrepreneurship; encourage migration from the informal to the formal sector; facilitate access to financing for women entrepreneurs; and, last but not least, promote the development of women's entrepreneurship.to financing for women entrepreneurs; facilitating effective and efficient networking for women entrepreneurs; and creating microfinance institutions to finance projects exclusively for women and girls.
Sefco also wants to make the actions of financing institutions in favor of women entrepreneurs more visible, to give them a better grasp of the processes that facilitate access to such financing. At the end of this second edition, women entrepreneurs should be able to migrate from the informal to the formal sector; to master the circuits and procedures for accessing financing for their businesses; toidentify the most appropriate training courses to perfect their skills in their sector of activity; capitalize on networking; make good use of the knowledge received from trainers to develop their entrepreneurial activity. The gala evening for women entrepreneurs is scheduled for July 12.
The first edition of Sefco was held from May 20 to 27, 2023 at the Pointe-Noire Chamber of Commerce on the theme "Boosting female creativity for a better Congo". It was held under the patronage of the mayor of Pointe-Noire, Evelyne Tchichellé Moe Paty, the event's sponsor .
